Isidora Rajsic's Writing Portfolio

I don't recall a time in my life when writing was not tightly woven into the fabric of my existence. I learned how to do it, technically at around 6 and once I succumbed to its powers, the written word and I became inseparable. This passion and thirst for more of that rush I feel every time I create a piece of content, shaped every major life choice I made. It’s the one thing that I turn to when I need to reaffirm my self-worth and the only thing that I can’t imagine living without.

I have a journalism degree and have been writing and publishing articles since the late 1990s.

I hope to captivate the audience by serving a scrumptious meal to their thoughts while tickling their emotional reservoir.

My name is Isidora and I hope to see you in and around one of my next paragraphs.

Babygirl: daring themes and dairy play

Writer-director Halina Reijn’s “Babygirl” vastly misses its intended erotic thriller landing, but successfully nests itself as a nuanced, female gaze driven, emotionally resonant character study of self-realization and ultimately, self-acceptance. When we meet Romy (Nicole Kidman), a 57-year-old New York City tech CEO, wife and mother of two, she is making love to her longtime husband and is seemingly peaking in that area of her life as well. Following a couple of lazy “I love you’s”, she leaves the bedroom, rushes over to her office in their penthouse apartment, hastily opens her laptop to reveal a porn site window already gearing up and ready to go.

She’s in Love With Love, but So Is He

I’m not one to comment on anyone’s love life. Especially when it goes awry. With a failed marriage and a slew of other doomed relationships that pepper my past, I am yet to experience and—from what I’ve heard and seen from others, bask in the bliss of a proper, all-consuming, unabashed love.Hey, it’s out there. I know it. Any day now.Love is a toughie, though. You feel like you’ve finally cracked the code to eternal happiness with a person you label your soulmate, your ride or die, your homie for...

Me and 90s teen TV: A love story

In fact, without the help of Angela, Jordan, Buffy, Felicity, Joey, Pacey, and the Salinger clan, I frankly do not feel I would have made it. See, I come from a war-torn country, which prompted my parents to devise a drastic-times-call-for-drastic-measures survival enhancing plan B. This resulted in our immigration to Ontario, Canada in the early fall of 1994. After being graciously put up by distant relatives for the first weeks of our arrival into our new, warless but ultimately even more te

Aftersun leaves a mark

I feel like I should start this by saying that I watch films for many reasons, but mostly, they’re like a major source of self-care for me. A psychological cuddle blanket I wrap tightly around my (often) wounded soul, to gain inspiration, to recharge, to keep my own show going. If you still haven’t seen Charlotte Wells’ melancholic masterpiece, Aftersun, I strongly suggest you do two things: 1. See it, as soon as humanly possible and 2. Come back, if you wish, to read the remainder of what I am

Bella Breakdown The reunion we’ve all been yearning for, especially following that near-miss at the Golden Globes, finally took place at last night’s SAG Awards.
